Sugared Cranberries
Sugared cranberries are my favorite thing to make during the holidays and are a special tradition my mom and I share. They are perfectly tart and sweet, giving a satisfying pop after the first bite.
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh cranberries or half a 12 oz bag.
1 cup syrup
1 cup granulated sugar
Instructions:
Put the cranberries in a bowl and add the syrup. Add more syrup if it doesn’t completely cover the cranberries. Cover and let sit for at least 4 hours, but it’s best if they sit overnight in the fridge, this will make them softer and sweeter.
Spread the sugar evenly on a small baking sheet. Drain the cranberries (I recommend keeping the cranberry syrup, it’s great on pancakes :) and put them on the sheet in an even layer. Shake the pan up and down, side to side until the cranberries are evenly coated with sugar.
Let the cranberries sit on the sheet for 2-4 hours, or until they are dry and not sticky. Time varies depending on how long they soaked in the syrup.
